Teach your child Lifelong Intelligence

There are probably as many definitions of intelligence as there are experts who study it. To simplify, 'intelligence' is the ability to learn about, learn from, understand, and interact with one's environment. Environment can be something as small as a family or a classroom.

Even without research, almost all parents know that early childhood is a time of rapid growth and development. During these first few critical years, young children go through a long period where playing and hands-on experiences are vital to their learning process.

And during these first few critical years, a child's language, knowledge and other lifelong skills will be easier to develop as the brain "sharpens" or absorbs the most during this period. Like the saying goes "A child's brain is like a sponge".

It is never too early to teach your child as the brain is almost fully grown by 6 years old. Here's a chart to show the physical growth of a child's brain:

Birth 16 Months 6 Years Adult
1/4 size 1/2 size 9/10 size Full grown
